Known primarily for its reds Rioja is one of the five best-known
and most prestigious wine-producing regions of the world. The Rioja’s
principal soils are ideal for quality viticulture; they are well
balanced in structure (sand, limestone and clays), slightly alkaline,
low in organic matter and have a moderate supply of water in the
summer.
Reviews/Awards
88 Points - Wine Advocate June 2010, Issue #189
“Gran Familia offers up a fragrant nose of cedar, leather,
spice box and blackberry. This is followed by a medium-bodied wine
with plenty of savory fruit, a forward personality, and enough structure
and balance to drink well over the next 5 years. It is an excellent
value”.
