About Well Oiled Wine Company
Well-Oiled Wine Company began in 2005 as a result of several market brainstorming meetings by Mark Clinard and Richard Riddell. Those meetings were focused on analyzing why so few of the terrific wines from Spain are imaginatively branded in the US market.
After several discussions Mark & Richard vowed to change the status quo by starting a wine marketing, sales, brand creation and import company. To accelerate speed to market we partnered with Guy Anderson Wines in the UK for their branding expertise and deep knowledge of Spain . In 2006 we launched our first wines to a few select distributors and have since expanded to all major markets through 40 states.
Well-Oiled Wine Company philosophy necessitates a small portfolio of vibrant brands. We identify market opportunities by listening to the needs of the consumers both on-premise and off-premise and then seek out, or create, brands to fit those demands. Our requirements are demanding yet simple: Outstanding wine, Memorable branding, Excellent pricing.
Our persnickety tasting team will not take on a wine just because it’s good. Our meticulous marketing team will not promote a wine just because the brand is interesting. Our greedy finance team will not sell a wine just because it can make money. Each wine must be the complete package: Terrific wine, iconic branding, great value.
Currently we’re sourcing most of our wine from Spain and Australia
but we’re always on the lookout for interesting regions and great
winemaking in any part of the world.
